Season's Greetings from the LHC!

A hallmark of the winter season, holiday cards have been a favorite way to send good cheer since the late 19th century.

Local artist Henry R. Diamond (1896–1989), most celebrated for his woodcuts and linoleum engravings, used his talents to create beautiful Christmas cards which, though undated, were likely created from the mid 1920s through the 30s.

Click through the gallery below to view the digitized cards, some of which were inspired by the local sights of Roslyn.

Happy Holidays from the Local History Collection!
